The daily struggles of women and girls in Africa in relation to gender, sexuality, religion and education is that most women and girls are still subjected to the ancient patriarchal system of doing things. From the ways of raising children, dressing, what to eat, what to say and when to say it. This has for so long ensured great challenges in women and girls adaptation to the changing social, political, cultural and spiritual environments around them. This phenomenon creates an imbalance in society where there is a lack of equitable sharing of resources and access to essential needs.
Wawa aba institute provides an enabling environment for all persons to explore their unique identities, enhance their capacities to engage and adapt to their environments, attain bodily autonomy, strengthen their voices in leadership, and encourage full participation in society. Wawa aba aims to give power back to the feminine divine who is more accepting, forgiving, empathetic, gives second chances, understands vulnerability, removes our shame and ultimately enables a life in abundance for all.
